shanbally herb dispensary
noel and bridget duggan purchased shanbally estate, co. tipperary in 2013. they could see that the land and walled garden was ideally suited to growing selected medicinal plants. they decided that shanbally should become a “centre of excellence” for herbal medicine, traditional healing, folk medicine and spiritual healing. a fully operational medicinal plant growing and processing facility has been created at shanbally producing herbal tinctures and products for herbal medicine practitioners. works began to restore shanbally house and gardens in 2014 and was completed in spring 2019. we were tasked with creating a brand for shanbally that defined their central brand values and maximised their potential for growth and expansion.
shanbally prides itself on appealing to anyone interested in holistic healing, a healthy lifestyle and irish natural beauty solutions. shanbally is unique because it uses the only organic, vibrant herbs grown and processed in ireland by medical herbalists.
we helped to build a brand that exhibits shanbally as the go-to holistic centre of excellence for herbal medicines and alternative medicine.

beautiful, calm yet vibrant imagery alongside elegant typography and colour palette is key to created to perfect brand image for shanbally – restorative, healing, irish, sustainable, nurturing, organic and educating.
shanbally wanted to expand its expertise by offering wellness holidays and herbal education breaks to it’s customers. on a national level shanbally wanted to individuals and families interested in natural, organic herbs. shanbally also wanted to target the international market, appealing to the culturally curious and great escapers across the globe.
it takes a strong brand to encapsulate all of this. and it takes an even stronger team to bring a brand like this to life. we created a brand architecture that would cover all aspects of shanbally while helping the company to grow and expand both nationally and internationally.
building a brand
shanbally is more than a herb dispensary so we created a specific brand architecture to ensure that each aspect of the company was branded in it’s unique way.
shanbally organic farm is situated among the rolling green hills of north Tipperary. It is composed of several diverse ecosystems with a wide range of habitats. hay meadows, waterways, and hedgerows support an array of wild flowers and herbs.
shanbally house and gardens have everything for the ideal
wellness break. the dandelion café and tearooms provide delicious nourishing food and drinks. the lady’s mantle is the perfect accommodation for the horsechestnut retreat centre.
the herb dispensary produces and distributes herbs and tinctures at a wholesale level. lotions, creams, and other cosmetics are also available for purchase by the public through their online shop.

we chose shades of muted greens for shanbally – green symbolises freshness, spring, renewal and irishness. green also has connotations of peace, environmental consciousness, fertility, and abundance. purple is considered mystical, linking the colour to mystery and magical protection, and shades of orange are synonymous with fire and autumn, warmth and bountiful harvest.
we chose a colour scheme which has three colors equally spaced around the wheel. while this is high in intensity, it suits the shanbally brand as it has contrast, warm colours, and cool colours which developed throughout each aspect of the shanbally brand.
